Welcome to Huron

Huron is located in Beadle County, South Dakota. It is the county seat of Beadle County. The Huron Plainsman, also referred to as the Plainsman, is the newspaper. The first settlement at Huron was made in 1880. The city was named after the Huron Indians. It is currently the seventh largest city in South Dakota.

In recent years Huron’s population has once again started to grow after nearly 20 years of stagnation. We are home to the South Dakota State Fair, which is held six days before Labor Day and home to a statue known as “The World’s Largest Pheasant”, which was refurbished in the summer of 2011.

If you’re in Huron and hungry, The Scoreboard Bar & Grill is THE place to go. No matter what your craving is we’re sure to satisfy it. I just had their California burger for the first time and it was delicious!! It was juicy and savory and I was smiling the whole time i eating it! Highly recommend this place if you want a good burger!

Scoreboard Bar and Grill was an awesome place to have dinner while I stayed overnight in Huron for work.

It was a busy place at 7 pm for the Little Leage World, buy my wait time for my food was really fast. I ordered their 12 oz ribeye dinner and everything with it, including the value, was great! Steak was cooked perfectly and the waffle fries I chose to go with it were very good too. The meal also came with unlimited salad bar to my surprise, which was a nice bonus! The server/bartender in green Twins gear checked on me and kept my water full.

Highly recommend this place for dinner if you’re staying overnight or passing thorough Huron! I’ll be back for future work trips for sure.

Excellent! Chill bar with great food. Large tvs with sports right up my husband’s alley. I was able to have a glass of Merlot and relax. Loving my life!
